Privacy at Kiwinove
Kiwinove believes privacy and security belong together. This page explains, in plain language, what information may be processed when you use our website, who may process it and why.
The short version
Our tools do not require an account. Kiwinove does not save your tool inputs or a copy of your results. Some checks process a public domain or connection information as explained below.
Kiwinove does not currently use Google Analytics, advertising pixels or behavioural profiling on this website.
Our hosting provider and Google reviews feature may process limited technical information. We explain each service below.
If you contact us, you may ask what personal information we hold about you and request a correction.
01
Simply reading this website does not send your name, email address or phone number to Kiwinove. We do not offer website accounts, mailing-list registration or contact forms. The IT tools have input fields for their specific checks; their processing is explained below.
If you choose to contact us by email, telephone, WhatsApp or a social-media service, we receive the information you decide to provide. This may include your name, contact details, organisation, message and any information needed to respond to your enquiry or provide a service.
We use that information to communicate with you, provide requested services, maintain appropriate business records and meet legal obligations. Please do not send passwords, payment-card details or other sensitive information through ordinary email or social media.

Although Kiwinove keeps its own collection to a minimum, some companies process technical information so the website and its features can work:
Cloudflare hosts, delivers and protects the website. When your browser requests a page, Cloudflare may process information such as your IP address, browser and device details, requested page, security signals and request logs. This is used for delivery, reliability and protection against malicious traffic.
Read Cloudflare's Privacy PolicyThe home page uses a Google Maps feature to display our Google Business Profile and customer reviews. When that feature loads or you interact with it, Google may receive technical information such as your IP address, browser and device details, and may use cookies or information associated with your Google settings.
Read Google's Privacy PolicyThese providers may process information outside New Zealand. Their handling of information is governed by their own privacy policies and the services they provide to Kiwinove.
The PDF Merger & Splitter and Image to Text (OCR) tools process selected files in your browser without uploading their contents. PDF files, images and extracted text are not sent to Kiwinove or an external document-processing service or saved as a history. The OCR tool downloads its open-source recognition engine and English/Te Reo Māori language models from this website; normal hosting request logs may record these asset requests, but they do not contain your document or extracted text. Results remain on the page until cleared or closed; copies you download or place on your clipboard remain under your control. Keep originals, review results and take care when sharing sensitive information.
The Image Resizer & Compressor reads and processes your selected image in your browser. It does not upload the image to Kiwinove or an external image-processing service, or save an image history. The original file is not overwritten. Previews remain on the page while it is open; downloaded copies remain on your device. Re-encoding may change or remove metadata, but is not a guarantee that all sensitive information has been removed. Check image content and metadata before sharing.
The Password Strength Checker and generator, QR Code Generator, Email Header Analyzer, Email Signature Generator and Microsoft 365 Readiness Assessment process your input in your browser. They do not upload passwords, QR content, pasted headers, signature details or assessment answers to Kiwinove. An external signature logo is requested from its host only when you enable its preview; that host can receive your IP address and request details. Exported signatures include the logo URL, which email apps may also request. Copying a signature places its details on your device's clipboard, whose history or sync settings may retain them. Avoid using these tools on shared or untrusted devices.
The DNS & Email Health Checker sends public DNS queries directly from your browser to Cloudflare's public DNS resolver. The Speed Test transfers test data to and from Cloudflare to measure your connection. Cloudflare processes these requests under its own privacy practices.
What's My IP? and the Speed Test use Cloudflare's connection metadata to show your public IP and network information. The Website Security Checker sends your chosen public domain to a Kiwinove endpoint hosted on Cloudflare, which queries public DNS and requests the target website's response headers. The target website may log these requests.
Kiwinove does not save a tool history or report database. Hosting providers may still process operational and security logs. Results remain in the current page while it is open; a downloaded report or QR file remains on your device until you remove it. PDFs can contain public IPs, email details or business information. QR codes may contain Wi-Fi credentials. Share these files only with people you trust. No report is automatically emailed to Kiwinove.

05
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect information against loss, unauthorised access, misuse, alteration or disclosure. These include encrypted HTTPS connections, security services and access controls appropriate to the information involved.
No internet service can promise absolute security. If a privacy breach occurs, we will assess it promptly and notify affected people and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner where required by New Zealand law.
Information provided directly to Kiwinove is kept only for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was received, legitimate business record-keeping and applicable legal requirements. It is then securely deleted or anonymised where practical.
06
Under New Zealand's Privacy Act 2020, you may ask whether Kiwinove holds personal information about you, request access to it and ask us to correct information you believe is inaccurate.
We will respond as soon as reasonably practicable and normally within 20 working days. In limited circumstances the law may permit information to be withheld or additional time to be taken; if that applies, we will explain it.
If you have an unresolved privacy concern, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner .

Contact Kiwinove if you have a question about this policy, want to make a privacy request or believe your information has not been handled appropriately.
