Strong starts with unpredictable.

Private by design. Your password is never sent to Kiwinove or an external password service. The tool does not log it or save it to cookies or browser storage. Copying is optional and uses your device’s clipboard.

Check a password

How strong is it?

01

Length helps. Common words, keyboard patterns and predictable substitutions can still make a password easier to guess.

    What this result means

This is an estimate of guessability, not a guarantee. It does not check breach databases or tell whether a password has been reused. Use a unique password for each account and enable multi-factor authentication.

    Make it unpredictable.

    02

Choose your options. The browser’s cryptographic random generator selects every character or word.

We recommend at least 16 characters. You can choose fewer.

    Lowercase letters are always included.

    Length before clever tricks.

A longer, unpredictable password is more useful than a familiar word with “1!” added. Our 16-character suggestion is a recommendation, not a restriction.

    Remember words. Store passwords.

Random words can make a passphrase easier to remember. A reputable password manager can keep a different random password for every account.

    You stay in control.

Generate, reveal, copy or clear when you choose. There is no password export or emailed report. The page clears its fields when you leave.

How the tool works and data sources

The strength estimate uses zxcvbn-ts locally, with pattern and dictionary matching. Its English dictionary includes OpenSubtitles 2024 data via OPUS (ODC-BY). Passphrases use the EFF large word list (7,776 words, CC BY 3.0 US), bundled with this site. Password guidance is informed by NIST. None of these providers receives your password.

Password Strength Checker & Generator: practical help, clear next steps.

Explore password predictability or create a random password or memorable passphrase. Password processing runs in this browser rather than being sent for an online check.

    How to use this tool

    1. Check a password locally, or choose the password generator.
    2. For generation, select the length and the character or memorable-word options you want.
    3. Copy the result to a trusted password manager and use a unique password for each account.

    Common questions

    Are passwords sent to Kiwinove?

The tool processes passwords and generated values on your device. Do not paste a real password into another service simply to compare scores. Device and browser security still matter.

Does a strong score make an account safe?

No. A strength estimate does not protect against phishing, malware or password reuse. Use multi-factor authentication where available and keep account recovery details secure.
